Basic Info
Name:Henry Morita
Bio
Name: Henry Morita
Age: 22
Birthday: June 3rd
Family: Parents Stephanie and Michael and brother Ben, age 18, who is brain damaged.
Race: Half Italian-American, half Japanese
Stats: 5’8, 140 pounds, brown hair/eyes, glasses, cystic acne, eczema on arms. Wears braces due to getting teeth knocked in when his brother accidentally elbowed him in the mouth.
Former Career: Student, college library assistant, computer parts reseller, programmer, and network securities specialist.
Education (higher): Graduate of Ohio University with a major in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology and minor in Radio and Television Broadcasting. Until finding himself in Toshima, Henry was a first year graduate student at Ohio University pursuing a Master's in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology.
Sexual Preference: Straight
Relationship History: Has had two relationships, neither of which lasted long. He’s still a virgin.
Birthplace: Clairton, Pennsylvania
Languages: Fluent English and passable spoken Japanese. He’s practically illiterate in written Japanese and can only make out katakana and hiragana with great difficulty. He knows only five kanji. He works frequently at overcoming this.
Quirks: Bites nails, snacks constantly, always has (literally) cold feet, cannot stand quiet. If he’s awake, listening to music; Broadway standards, Christmas (year round) oldies or techno. Also his sinuses give him problems over smoke and strong smells and he spends every winter with a runny nose.
Hobbies/Interests: Weather, computers, technology, cats and maps. He also reads (non-fiction and sci-fi).
Former Pets: Quotient, a painfully skittish black cat terrified of everyone but him. Still lives in his apartment in Ohio. Henry misses him terribly and hopes to eventually have another cat in his new home.
Faults: Cheapskate, horrible singer, impatient, makes stupid puns frequently. Also clicks his tongue when he's impatient or wants to avoid dealing with silence.
Personality: Sweet, personable, but a little dorky. Around girls he’s a bit shy.
Hates: Silence, bright lights, smoke and strong scents (bad allergies).
Likes: Personal space, cats, word searches, martial arts films, knives and swords (to collect only), porn and hentai, Japanese lanterns (had them strung around his former apartment) and most of all his family.
Fears/Worries: Being out alone at night, loosening his morals, money, physical confrontation, and romantic rejection. He worries over his brother’s safety now and then.

History: Henry was born in Clairton PA, the oldest son to Stephanie and Michael Morita. His father, a second generation Japanese, works for a consulting firm, and his mother is a former sixth grade math teacher, currently getting her Masters in Special Education.

Growing up, Henry spent much of his time and interest on science and technology, eventually earning a place at a math and science high school. His parents always encouraged his passions by enrolling him in science and computer camps ever summer and buying him all the components to build his own computer when he was ten, a feat he was (mostly) able to complete on his own.

Henry never managed to be popular but thankfully never dealt with much torment by other students. He found close friendships with his brother Ben and his best friend Ryan, whom he bonded with upon moving to Seville, Ohio at age seven. He also had two romantic relationships, one in high school and one at college, but neither lasted long.

There is only one truly dark spot in Henry’s past; that of his brother’s suicide attempt at age fifteen. At the time Henry was home from college to assist his mother who’d recently had on ovarian cyst removed. Unbeknownst to Henry, this scare, combined with other factors (including a difficult breakup, and a trio of bullies at his school) had pushed his brother to the edge. Late one Saturday night in June, Ben hung himself on his closet door with a belt. From his bedroom next door Henry heard the thud of Ben’s head against the door and rushed to Ben’s room. The boy was unconscious and ashen, but showed a faint heartbeat. The family rushed Ben to the hospital with Henry nearly certain the teen’s worst injuries were bruising and soreness to the throat. When he prognosis came in that the extended lack of oxygen to the brain caused severe, permanent brain damage, he, unlike his parents, was completely blindsided. Since that time Henry grew closer to his brother, going home to spend every Saturday with him without fail.

Up until arriving in Toshima, Henry filled the rest of his time with studying, working, and making a side income as a jack-of-all trades with his computer services. Henry hates to be bored and loves to put his skills to use, so he’s almost always doing something to keep busy or help out.
